Well... I put on the surgical gloves today and started lifting pieces out of the first trunk... so far the bed jackets are it for lingerie, however there are some of the CUTEST 40's and 50's swing dresses in there (complete with matching belts!), old gloves, an old Hawaiian dress, lots of old blouses, a huge hand~knitted afghan (I saw several of these on top in the other one as well!), plus 5 gorgeous long wool coats... enough delicate crocheted doilies for three or four living rooms, in all different shapes and sizes, some that are made of sheer netting with crocheted edges (beautiful!), some with the most gorgeous crewel stitchery ever... lots of florals and one piece has a fabulous peacock with it's tail fanned out behind it... definitely a piece that needs to be framed!
Lots of very old newspaper at the sides and bottom... one newer piece is from 1965, so fun to read the sports and old classifieds, like a haircut for 85 cents... lol... and now I'll make every muscle car man fan out there drool... a 1964 Chevelle for $1799.00 What are they worth today guys? about 100K? do you want the number to call about it? hahaha! lol, along with a large 49 star flag!
I'm about 3/4 of the way through the first one and now I need to find a good (and inexpensive... lol) dry cleaners for all of it! I'm working in very cramped quarters, so I think I'm going to have to move things around more in a few days, to get to the rest, but this is soooooooo FUN! :) :) :)
